PRESCOTT — Sharlot Hall Museum will welcome visitors to Frontier Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026, for an evening of holiday activities, historic settings and seasonal traditions.
The event is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. at the museum in Prescott. Organizers describe Frontier Christmas as an evening of classic holiday merrymaking and say the hours have been extended this year to provide more time for Christmas activities.
Luminarias will line the museum walkways as visitors move from building to building. Along the way, they can meet Living History interpreters, visit with Father Christmas and take part in Victorian-inspired crafts.
The event will offer activities for children and adults. Visitors can create Christmas crafts to take home, enjoy a warm cup of cider and have a cookie. The Ranch House will feature the scent of freshly baked cookies, according to the event information.
Several museum buildings will provide activities connected to earlier eras. At the Print Shop, families can pick up a holiday greeting card created on an 1865 printing press. The Schoolhouse will offer an early Prescott school lesson, including slates and slate pencils.
The Governor’s Mansion will be decorated with a Christmas tree featuring vintage holiday decorations. The tree is described as bringing the nostalgia of earlier holiday seasons to the event.
Father Christmas will visit the museum campus throughout the evening as part of the holiday programming. The event listing presents his visits as one of the features intended to help usher in the holiday spirit.
Frontier Christmas will combine the museum’s historic buildings and living-history activities with hands-on seasonal experiences. Visitors will be able to move through the campus by the light of the luminarias, pause for refreshments and participate in activities ranging from historic printing to craft-making.
The event is one of the Sharlot Hall Museum’s listed activities for the 2026 holiday season. Its programming will take place during the five-hour event window on Dec. 5, with each featured location offering a different part of the evening’s experience.
At the Print Shop, the 1865 press will connect a holiday greeting card with the museum’s historical setting. In the Schoolhouse, slates and slate pencils will provide materials for an early Prescott school lesson. At the Ranch House, freshly baked cookies and warm cider will add seasonal refreshments, while the Governor’s Mansion will provide a display of vintage decorations.
Together, the activities are designed around holiday traditions, historic interpretation and participation. Guests can visit with interpreters, see Father Christmas, make items to take home and explore the museum buildings as luminarias mark the walkways.
