Prescott College has scheduled a series of public and campus events from October 14 through October 17, 2026, marking six decades since the local institution was founded. The milestone gathering invites alumni, families, and area residents to participate in activities recognizing the school’s historical footprint in education, ecological stewardship, and community leadership.
General admission to the multi-day anniversary is free of charge, with advance registration managed through the college’s online alumni and community portal. While a comprehensive agenda is still in development, administrators have released preliminary details highlighting experiential workshops, hands-on agricultural sessions, and guided outdoor excursions.
### Movement and Creative Workshops
The schedule of preview events begins on Thursday, October 15, with an indoor movement session titled “Dance Skills for Humankind.” Led by Delisa Myles, the class will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. inside the Manzanita Old Chapel.
The workshop focuses on group improvisation and physical awareness, welcoming attendees of all experience levels to explore movement and interpersonal connection. Organizers note that individuals planning to participate in the session should arrive dressed in comfortable attire suited for light physical activity.
### Sustainable Agriculture and Food Preservation
Campus-based educational programming continues the following morning, Friday, October 16, with an interactive food systems workshop scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Hosted inside the Wren Building, the program is titled “From Campus Garden to Plate: Preserving & Sampling our Harvest.”
Led by Sustainability Food Systems faculty member Eleanor Tison, current undergraduate students, and members of the campus Sustainability Crew, the gathering centers on practical food preparation. Participants will gather seasonal vegetation, herbs, and edible blossoms directly from the college grounds before moving inside the Wren Building Learning Kitchen. There, attendees will preserve the freshly gathered items, sample their work, and learn about ongoing environmental initiatives organized by the Green Mountain Center for Sustainability.
### Outdoor Field Excursions
In addition to activities on the main grounds, the celebration will incorporate off-campus outdoor education, reflecting the institution’s longstanding emphasis on field study. On Friday, October 16, a six-hour climbing excursion will take place at Upper Sullivan’s Canyon between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The outing will be directed by David Lovejoy, an emeritus faculty member and 1973 alumnus; Erin Lotz, an Adventure Education faculty member and 2020 graduate; and Kevin Keith, a 1993 graduate and board representative for the Prescott Climber’s Coalition. Participants will spend the day rappelling, rock climbing, and walking through the local riparian habitat while reviewing the geographical and human history of the canyon area.
Because of equipment logistics and wilderness safety considerations, space on the climbing trip is strictly capped. Unlike the free general campus programs, this specific field outing requires an enrollment fee to cover gear rentals and a packed lunch. Registration details for the excursion are accessible through the institution’s central anniversary web page.
### Registration and Community Access
Planning remains underway for additional lectures, reunions, and campus activities throughout the four-day calendar. College officials encourage former students and community members to monitor the institution’s official web portal at connect.prescott.edu for itinerary updates, activity registration, and support opportunities as the autumn 2026 gathering approaches.
