Work began September 28 on a Yavapai County road project that will convert a dirt section of Copper Basin Road to a paved roadway.
According to Yavapai County, Earth Resources Corporation is performing the work in conjunction with the county. The project extends from the existing pavement to the Forest Service boundary.
Construction is scheduled to continue through December 16, 2026. The project is part of the county’s roadwork program and will change the surface of this portion of Copper Basin Road from dirt to pavement.
For people who use the road, the construction period is the important part of the announcement. Work will continue through the fall, so drivers should expect an active construction area and allow additional time when conditions require it.
