Yavapai County flu vaccine clinics scheduled

## Seasonal clinics underway

Yavapai County Community Health Services has begun its annual flu vaccine clinic series, with clinics scheduled from Sept. 19 through Oct. 24, according to information published by the county.

The county’s Sept. 9 announcement directs residents to YavapaiAZ.GOV/CHS for additional details. The notice does not list clinic hours, appointment requirements, eligibility information or specific clinic locations in the supplied material, so residents should check the county’s Community Health Services information before planning a visit.

The announcement comes as the county health department continues its broader public health work, which includes immunizations, disease prevention, food safety and other community services. The department says its work is intended to support the health and well-being of Yavapai County residents.

## County health services

In addition to immunizations, Community Health Services provides or coordinates information about the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, commonly known as WIC; food worker certification; birth and death certificates; medical examiner services; and disease prevention.

The department’s online resources also include public health meeting information, COVID-19 case statistics, food recall notices, COVID-19 vaccine information, quarantine and isolation guidance, testing site information and hand-washing guidance.

Residents can also find information about substance abuse and mental health programming, the Medical Reserve Corps, health inspections and food safety, and the Arizona Sonshine event. The county health services page lists an ADHS measles dashboard as well as other public health materials.

Because the flu clinic announcement does not provide a separate schedule or site list, residents seeking vaccination information should use the county’s Community Health Services website or contact the department directly. The clinic series is scheduled to continue through Oct. 24.

Yavapai County Community Health Services identifies prevention, collaboration and the delivery of quality services as central parts of its public health mission. The department also states that it aims to use county resources responsibly and remain accountable for the results of its programs.
